Scope
The Shared Ownership Allocation Policy has been devised to ensure that the allocation of shared ownership properties is carried out in a fair and transparent way.
Principles
We will
- Introduce and extend tenure choice by providing properties for low cost home ownership.
- Provide first time buyers and other people who have limited housing alternatives with a cost effective route to ownership of good quality homes.
Practice
We will implement the policy by:
- Devising procedures for compliance with the policy
- Training staff to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and obligations
- Monitoring adherence to policy requirements
