My background is in Quantity Surveying - I completed an apprenticeship in private practice then worked for several years with a government department before joining Link as Assistant Development Manager in 1983.

Link's diversification over the years, along with ongoing changes in its operating environment, have meant that new challenges have continued to present themselves. Responding to this ongoing change keeps my job interesting.

I'm looking forward to the new challenges ahead as Link continues to grow

Since I joined Link, the organisation has diversified greatly. We no longer just build homes but are now involved in a great deal of "wider role" activity, such as tenant participation and providing on-site traineeships for young people.

Looking beyond the homes we provide, Link's fundamental role is to help improve people's lives. When I see large numbers of people applying for a single Link house, it really brings it home to me that people value our services, which is very rewarding.

In recent times, my role has expanded and I am less involved in the day-to-day running of the development programme and more concerned with strategy, business development and the overall management of the development programme. I'm looking forward to new challenges ahead as Link continues to grow.
