Overview of Link
- The Link group of housing, support and regeneration companies offers a wide range of services to 10,000 families and individuals
- Link operates primarily in Scotland's central belt
- Link builds or improves 150 homes each year for rent or low cost home ownership
- Around £90 million will be invested in completing 750 new or improved homes within the next five years.
Homes for rent
- Link manages and maintains a stock of 6,100 homes for rent
- This includes sheltered housing in 12 locations across central Scotland
- Link also owns almost 500 shared ownership properties
- It provides factoring services to the sharing owners and to 540 other owners in its mixed tenure estates.
- Link’s housing and maintenance officers spend up to 80% of their time out on estates visiting tenants
- The Link Housing Association Customer Service Centre (CSC) serves tenants and sharing owners, dealing with customer enquiries, repair requests, billing and income collection services.
- The CSC handles 2200 calls every week
- Link’s subsidiary Larkfield Housing Association in Greenock owns and manages a stock of 402 properties
- Larkfield provides management services to nearly 550 owner occupiers
- Larkfield also provides housing management to 237 Link tenants in Port Glasgow
- Link's newest subsidiary is Horizon Housing Association owns more than 700 properties which meet the needs of disabled people
Helping aspiring homeowners
- Link builds 150 new homes every year for rent and affordable ownership
- New homes are made available for outright sale, shared ownership and sale through the Scottish Government’s New Supply Shared Equity Scheme
- Link also runs the LIFT Open Market Shared Equity Scheme (OMSEP) in 25 of Scotland’s 32 local authority areas
Community regeneration
- Link delivers a diverse range of regeneration projects aimed at encouraging social and financial inclusion
- The Link Advice Team offers money and welfare advice to tenants and sharing owners
- During 2008/09 the Advice Team team dealt with more than 1500 clients, sourcing benefit income of £565,000 and dealing with £440,000 of debt
Support services
- More than 140 LinkLiving staff offer support services to individuals in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, Fife and Falkirk
- More than 600 vulnerable adults and young people receive practical support and care
