Sustainable Developments
We aim to address the under supply of affordable housing whilst improving the long term sustainability of communities and the wider environment.
To do this we must continue to build high quality developments and replace the most inefficient properties.
We must increase our housing provision to meet a number of national Government targets and we are mindful of the impact of housing on the environment.
Our approach to sustainability means that we make the best use of our resources including design, construction and maintenance. We recognise that a good development has an impact on the quality of life of residents who live there.
Sustainability objectives
We play an important role in terms of design, construction and the location of our developments. These are vital to our sustainability objectives which include:
- reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- reducing pollution
- conservation of resources
- supporting communities.
Homes for people with disabilities
Link works in partnership with Horizon to pursue new development opportunities, with the overall aim of increasing the supply of affordable housing, particularly fully wheelchair accessible accommodation. This will allow people with particular housing needs to integrate into our communities.
