Support and care
As LinkLiving, we offer services to a diverse group of people who, for a wide variety of reasons including learning disabilities, mental health issues, or drug or alcohol issues, need support or care.
Setting
We provide support services for individuals in their own homes, which includes:
- local authority temporary accommodation
- housing association and council tenancies
- accommodation with support
- residential care
- privately rented property
- owner-occupied property
Approach
We listen and respond to each individual's needs, value their strengths and capabilties and strive to help them live in a way they want to.
The levels of support we offer and the outcomes achieved depend on each individual's own situation and what they would like to get out of support. The main prerequisite is that a person is willing to engage with support.
How we do this
We support people by helping them develop their life skills, such as the practical tenancy management of budgeting, healthy eating, shopping, cooking and paying bills for they can live safely in their homes. We also help people to develop access employment and training and become more connected with local resources.
We also run an award-winning peer education project - SmartLiving - which provides information and advice to young people about having their own tenancy and offers skills and confidence-building opportunities to the peer education volunteers who deliver the advice sessions.
