How are support and care services funded?
Funding for support and care can come from many different sources. We generally provide services under contract to, and are paid by, local authorities but we also provides services directly to individuals.
An increasing number of people are organising their own support packages and paying for it themselves using Individual Budgets and Direct Payments.
We have a strong track record of working closely with commissioners in local authorities who are responsible for purchasing and commissioning support and care services.
We aim to be innovative, providing those who use our services with opportunities for choice and giving those who commission our services a reassurance that they are investing in a reliable specialist provider.
About Individual Budgets
An Individual Budget is funding based on need, which is allocated directly to a person who has been assessed by their local authority. The person can then organise their own support package, giving them control and choice about how their support and care needs are met and who provides the required services.
If you are eligible for an Individual Budget, you can receive it as a Direct Payment which allows you to purchase a service directly from us.
Our staff can help you with all aspects of applying for and managing a Direct Payment.
