How we use your rent
We set rents in accordance with our Rents Policy.
Rents allow us to cover the cost of:
- Providing a high quality repairs and maintenance service
- Improving existing properties
- Building new homes
- Rents lost through empty properties and rent arrears
In addtion to basic rent, some tenants also pay for extra services such as garden meaintenance and communal stair cleaning.
We do not make a profit for tenants' rents. When tenants don't pay their rent it means we have less money to provide services, so we work to make sure everyone pays their rent and ontime.
Standards
To allow us to manage your rent effectively, we will:
- Review rent and service charges every year
- Set yearly targets for a reduction in the number of tenants who have missed payments
- Offer a variety of ways to pay rent
- Give you 28 days' notice of any increase to your rent or service charges
