Please don't be tempted to dump it - fly tipping is illegal and dangerous.
All councils provide a 'special uplift' service. While most councils will charge for this, some will offer one or more free uplifts. Contact your local council for more information.

Other ways to dispose of bulky rubbish
- Local furniture projects will be happy to take your old items if they are too good to scrap - contact us or your local council for more information
- Advertise it on 'freecycle', a national website listing free items that people no longer use
- When you buy a new household item, the retailer may uplift your old item free of charge - ask when you buy
