Switching supplier

Once you have a deal which is best for you, switching supplier is a simple process:

  • Get in touch with your new supplier and agree a contract with them
  • Give your existing supplier 28 days's notice that you are switching, first be telephone then by confirming in writing
  • Pay any outstanding bills to your existing supplier or they prevent you from transferring
  • Take a meter reading on the day you change supplier.  Your old supplier can then work out your final bill and your new supplier can use it as a starting point for your first bill
  • Be sure to check that your direct debits are set up with the new supplier and closed down with the old supplier
