Priority Services Register
Each energy supplier has Priority Services Register which allows those listed to access extra help and services.
If you would like to join, please contact your energy supplier.
Criteria for eligibility
You must fall into one of the following categories:
- Disabled
- Chronically ill
- Visually impaired
- Hearing impaired
- Of pensionable age
Services available on the Priority Services Register
Services are free but may be dependant on your circumstances. They may include:
- Free annual gas safety check
- Password scheme for when the supplier visits you
- Bills provided in large print or Braille
- Free moving of meter if it is difficult to access
- Free quarterly meter readnigs
- Free controls or adaptors for gas and electric appliances
- Bill nominee scheme
- Priority in emergencies - the supplier will provide alternative cooking and heating arrangements if energy supply is cut off with no advance knowledge.
