Right and responsibilities

Your Scottish secure tenancy is a legal agreement between you and Link.

It sets out each party's rights and responsibilities. The main ones are shown below.

Link's responsibilities

We will:

  • Maintain our properties to a high standard, making sure they are warm, secure and comfortable
  • Look after common areas
  • Involve you as much as possible in decisions affecting your area

In return, we ask you to:

  • Control pets
  • Put all waste in bins provided and return bins to their store after they are emptied
  • Avoid disturbing neighbours with noise, especially at night or early in the morning

Problems with neighbours?

A Scottish secure tenancy places a number of obligations upon tenants not to disturb neighbours. Problems with neighbours can include anything from untidy gardens or dog fouling to drug dealing or racial abuse.

We have an Anti-social Behaviour Policy and have produced an advice booklet about tackling anti-social behaviour and the ways in which we can help you deal with it.
