Private Sector Leasing
Link is the managing agent for the City of Edinburgh Council’s Private Sector Leasing Scheme which helps people who are homeless or in need of housing.
The City of Edinburgh Council leases properties in Edinburgh from private landlords for three years and these are then sublet to people who are homeless or in need of housing, under a Scottish Short Secure Tenancy (SSST).
During the lease, Link manages the properties on behalf of the Council and we are the point of contact for all Private Sector Leasing tenants and landlords during this time.
We need properties to join the scheme
We are looking for landlords who own one and two-bedroom properties in Edinburgh to join the scheme. The properties should be of a good quality, appropriately heated and have double glazing.
We will agree to rent a property subject to you having:
- Valid EPC, EICR, PAT certificate and annual gas safety and service certificates
- Landlord registration verification
- Proof of ownership
- Landlord insurance certificate
- Verified identification
- Completed our application form
- Agreed to carry out any additional work to the property following the first viewing
During the lease, landlords are required to look after the fabric of the building, ensure all repairs are carried out within an appropriate timescale, arrange for any necessary common repairs and meet all statutory obligations as set out in the lease.
