We are committed to helping older people lead independent lives. Our sheltered housing complexes are designed for people over the age of 60 who are looking for a new home which is secure and quiet to relax and enjoy life.
We operate 11 complexes across Scotland's central belt, with each one giving tenants the independence they need but with an onsite sheltered housing officer. Sheltered housing officers work Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, or 9.00am to 5.00pm depending on the complex.
Each complex has a range of facilities and amenities on offer. Unfortunately, given the age and design of properties, the majority are unsuitable for electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
They are close to local shops, doctors’ surgeries and other local services. Each complex has a range of social activities on offer and tenants are encouraged to become involved in suggesting and organising events.
We are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide housing support.
Housing support is help that is provided to enable someone to manage on a day to day basis while they are living in their own home.
It can include tasks such as:
- providing and maintaining emergency call and alarm systems
- making referrals to other agencies who can provide support and assistance, for example: aids and adaptations
- supporting new tenants to settle into their homes and become involved in the development's activities
Our sheltered housing does not replace any current or future need a tenant may have for 'care' services such as home-help, bathing assistance or help given by a district nurse or other medical practitioners. We are unable to provide personal care or practical support in your home. We are also unable to administer, store or keep medication.
