Link development in Paisley officially opened
Link's new affordable housing development at the Arnotts Building, Paisley has been officially opened by Provost Anne Hall
The £3.1million construction of 31 homes for intermediate rent and shared equity sale commenced in January 2013, using £940,000 funding from the Scottish Government.
Built by Westpoint Homes the properties consist of one-and two-bedroom flats and meet Link design standards for affordable housing.
Each property has gas central heating and hot water systems, high thermal insulation and double glazing to create warm, comfortable and energy efficient homes that will be easy and economical to run.
Link has already provided 30 new homes for sale at its Cotton Street development with and is onsite with 38 ‘independent retirement living’ flats which will be available by August 2016.
Playing a part in Paisley's regeneration
Link Group Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to have been supported by the Scottish Government and Renfrewshire Council to enable us to continue to build these new, high quality homes. We are continuing to work with the Council to help play a part in the area’s regeneration.”
Provost Anne Hall said: “These 31 new flats are also part of the council’s ambitious plan to deliver 1000 new affordable homes in Renfrewshire by 2020. We’re delighted to be working with our partners at Link Group to provide greater choice in terms of the housing available to them.
“Like many people in Renfrewshire I am particularly pleased to see this new development open at the former Arnotts’ department store in the heart of Paisley town centre. It’s a key part of the wider regeneration going on within Paisley and our aim of bringing people back to live in the town centre.”
