Link helps 1500 people buy a new home in past three months
Over 1500 new homebuyers have purchased a new home through the Scottish Government’s Help to Buy scheme in the past three months thanks to Link.
Although the main Help to Buy (Scotland) Scheme is closed, the Help to Buy Small Developers scheme - which offers assistance to those buying homes from small and medium sized builders and has £30 million of funding available - is continuing to accept applications.
In the last quarter, Link’s Help to Buy team processed over 1500 Help to Buy funding claims, with 600 claims in June alone, which saw £21million in funding being received from the Scottish Government.
The team was aware that the month of June was going to be exceptionally busy with 30 June being the end of the financial year for many house builders, so it prepared itself for as many sales as possible to be completed by their year-end.
Team-work key to results
Planning, consultation and liaison with the home builders, solicitors, customers, Scottish Government and Link’s own Finance team was key to ensuring all the sales went through.
June Brown, Link’s Commercial Services Manager, said: “Last month was one of the busiest we have ever had but the results show what team-work can achieve. A big thank you to everyone who made this result possible.”
Link has helped more than 5000 people take advantage of this scheme since it was launched in September 2013.
