LinkLiving launches low-cost WiFi for residents

LinkLiving has launched a low-cost WiFi service for its residents at West Bridge Mill, Kirkcaldy.

An internet connection system has been installed through Happus, in partnership with TalkTalk, and costs only £1 per month.

Until this service went live, residents relied on mobile phone data when they needed to access internet within the building.

Resident Nathan Lytollis said, “It’s ‘banging’. I can get Youtube, Netflix, everything. It’s great.”

The installation of the low-cost WiFi is the latest in a planned series of improvements at West Bridge Mill. Link previously installed a highly cost-effective and energy-efficient Combined Heat and Power unit (CHP), to help reduce residents' utility bills. These changes aim to improve the quality of living for the 30 young people who live there.

Paul White, Head of Operations said, “This is great news and a great deal for our tenants. WiFi access was high on the agenda at our last service users meeting, with one of our tenants having to ‘borrow’ his friends WiFi or go in to the town centre to get free access. This will be a huge boost for him, and I’m sure, many others.”

David Williamson, Founder of Happus said, “Happus is proud to be part of Links ambitions and objectives of getting all of its tenants online. In exclusive partnership with TalkTalk, Happus is committed to ensuring that everyone should be able to get on the internet in an affordable way.”
