Scrutiny on Tour!
Link’s Tenant Scrutiny Panel toured stock in South Lanarkshire and Glasgow on 22 November.
This was an opportunity for Panel members to see a variety of housing types, meet tenants and visit the communities which we work in.
The Panel met the newly established local tenants’ group in Hillhouse, Hamilton who are keen to develop outdoor community spaces, activities for children and make the neighbourhood a safe place to live. They travelled to developments in East Kilbride, Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Oatlands and Carntyne.
Stephen Whybrow Link Scrutiny Panel Member, said: “The tour was a great opportunity to visit the variety of developments Link Housing has to offer tenants; I enjoyed meeting fellow tenants in their communities”.
Link Group Board approves Scrutiny Panel report on kitchens
The Panel recently completed an inspection of Link’s planned maintenance programme – in particular how Link replaces kitchens. The Panel used a range of methods to review Link’s service, these included site visits to other Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords, interviewing contract managers, staff focus groups and carrying out satisfaction surveys with Link tenants during the kitchen replacement process.
The Panel made a total of nine recommendations; its report was presented at the Link Group Board in September. During the inspection the kitchen replacement rogramme was brought in-house. This meant the Panel had the opportunity to input to the new service customers receive; highlighting good practice and how things could be improved from the word go!
The Panel will meet Link Property Trade Operations Manager in Febuary to get an update on how the recommendations are being implemented.
