Help getting a job

We want to make sure you have access to the help and training you may need to get onto the employment ladder.

We do this by offering access to a variety of training and employability support courses. These courses give you the skills and confidence you need to enhance your job prospects.

What support do you offer?

We deliver a number of employability support courses, in Edinburgh, Fife and Falkirk, including:

Digital Employability Workshops: One day workshops designed to improve your digital skills.

Internet Savvy: A 12-week employability training scheme for working age tenants. Successful completion of this course sees participants achieve a City and Guilds qualification.

Step On: A series of activities designed to engage with individuals furthest away from the job market. The programme seeks to instil motivation, build confidence and self esteem and remove barriers to employment.

Step Up: A 12 week employability programme that sees individuals aged 18-24 year old learn the skills necessary to undertake employment. Participants have the opportunity to undertake a 3 week work placement. Successful completion of the course brings with it the award of the SQA Employability Award.

Link to Work: This is aimed at unemployed people aged 25 and over. Comprising a classroom based skills development element and an extended work experience placement. Funded by DWP and delivered by Link.

School of Hard Knocks: A rugby based employability programme that Link delivers in partnership with School of Hard Knocks – a social inclusion charity. This 8 week programme sees sport used as an engagement tool. The skills learned through participation on this course – teamwork, self confidence, communication, motivation are all transferable in to the world of work.

We advertise the details, times and locations of each of the training opportunities on our Facebook page regularly throughout the year.

What training and work experience do you offer?

We offer a number of volunteering opportunities, work placements and apprenticeships not only within Link but with some of the contractors we employ.

You can find out more about apprenticeship opportunities on our online jobs portal.
