We are committed to the training and development of our people. We support and encourage them to reach their potential by participating in a number of accreditations and award schemes.
Link is one of only six organisations in Scotland to hold both Investors in People Gold and Investors in Young People accreditation.
Link was named among the top 50 "Best Workplaces in the UK" in 2011 and 2015 by the Great Places to Work Institute. The scheme honours and recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding effectiveness in HR and people excellence.
We are very proud of our recognition as a Health Working Lives Gold Award employer which recognises the commitment we make to the wellbeing of our people. Link provides a number of healthy living initiatives and access to specialist health advice and counselling.
Equal and inclusive employer
We are an equal and inclusive employer and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
We are a Living Wage employer, which means we pay everyone working at Link, regardless of whether they are permanent employees or third-party contractors and suppliers, the Scottish Living Wage (which is significantly higher than the national minimum wage).
We offer a wide variety of benefits including flexi-time, generous holidays, a contributory pension scheme, corporate clothing vouchers, an employee assistance programme and childcare vouchers.
We offer our people the opportunity to enhance their knowledge with a suitably recognised qualification. We also offer the chance to take part in our mentoring programme which helps with personal and professional development.
Our Awards and Accreditations
Healthy Working Lives Gold Award
Link was only the second Registered Social Landlord in Scotland to achieve the Healthy Working Lives Gold Award. This supports employers and employees to promote healthy and safe living. We also work with our tenants and service users to promote healthy lifestyles.
Investor in People Gold Award and Investor in Young People
We are an Investor in People, meaning we strive for continuous improvement through the management and development of our staff. We are one of only 3% of organisations in Scotland who hold the Investors in People Gold award.
We are also an Investor in Young People. This is the only people-management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people. This represents a true commitment to the training and development of young people and demonstrates that Link is an employer of choice for young people.
Investor in Volunteers
We have achieved the Investing in Volunteers standard. This demonstrates that we are committed to our volunteers and to the highest organisational standards of volunteering.
Investors in Diversity
We are also accredited as an Investor in Diversity - a nationally recognised equality and diversity accreditation that recognises excellence in this area.
National Skills Academy
Link was the first Scottish Registered Social Landlord to be recognised by the National Skills Academy for Construction. We have adopted the Construction Industry Training Board Construction Skills’ Client-Based Approach which ensures future construction tenders issued by Link include commitments to deliver employment and skills relevant to the project being procured, as well as bringing added benefits to the local communities in which works are located.
We have signed the "See Me" pledge to tackle the stigma that can be associated with mental health issues.
Link participates in Stonewall Scotland's Diversity Champion scheme, which provides employers with support to develop improved recruitment and employment practices for gay and lesbian people.
As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the posts being advertised.
