Link CEO commends colleagues’ contribution during AGM

He said: “I am particularly proud Link was named Housing Association of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards 2023 because this is a direct reflection on the way we work and the impact we have on our communities. It’s been a fantastic year, and all our staff can be really proud that the award reflects on how they are positively recognised externally.”

Delegates had the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers during interactive breakout meetings. Sessions covered a series of key themes, including sustainability, tenant scrutiny, accessible housing, and development.

Pamela Woodburn led her first AGM as Chair of Link Group Board since her appointment after Ross Martin’s five-year term in the position ended.  New Board Members Julio Bros-Williamson, Mags Lightbody, Stuart Heatley, and Michael Leslie were all formally welcomed to the Board.

Tributes were also paid to Neil Hall, Director of Corporate Services, who is retiring in September after 45 years with Link. Jon Turner said: “Neil will be a massive loss to Link. It is impossible to quantify just how much effort and energy Neil has put into Link over many years. The fact we are such a large, diverse, and financially robust organisation is in no small part to the work Neil has done. Thank you, Neil, for all the support you have given me during the time I have been here. I would like to wish you a happy and relaxing retirement.”

Former Link Chief Executive Craig Sanderson fondly remembered the organisation’s first Chairperson and Member, Philip Cocker, who sadly passed away in February aged 94.
