Michael Leslie

Michael Leslie

I am a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) with over 25 years’ experience in mid-market corporate finance and financial risk. Since 2008, I have worked for leading global treasury and financial risk consultancy Chatham Financial. I specialise in debt advisory, debt-related hedging and derivatives, advising a wide range of clients but primarily covering the real estate and social infrastructure sectors. Chatham is employed-owned and our values align with social and community impact.

Prior to this role I worked in M&A advisory and Transaction Services with Ernst & Young and Deloitte. I hold an Executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh Business School.

I have worked extensively in an advisory capacity within the social housing sector throughout the UK. This includes debt raising and restructuring in the banking and capital markets (both private placements and public bonds); derivatives and risk management; mergers and amalgamations; and treasury strategy and governance. I have also undertaken treasury reviews on behalf of, and prepared derivatives guidance for, the Scottish Housing Regulator. I bring current knowledge and experience of the financial and capital markets as they impact both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

I joined the Board in May 2023.

Stuart Heatley

I joined the Link Group as Non-Executive Director in July 2023. Enabling people access to affordable housing is an absolute necessity which is close to my heart.

I am also a Mentor for MCR Pathways, a mentoring programme with the vision for all young people to experience equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.

I have worked in a variety of Financial Services roles for nearly 40 years; the day-job now is Managing Director of Capita Pension Solutions Limited. We create and implement resilient and responsible pension strategies to help people look forward to a more secure financial future. We've been looking after people's pensions for nearly 50 years, across pension schemes of all shapes and sizes.

What makes me tick? Unlocking and developing talent, business capability, markets, and business potential - delivering transformation of top and bottom line through seeing opportunity, providing leadership, strategic planning, and development and importantly, execution.

Ultimately, I believe that Employee Wellbeing underpins overall positive client delivery and therefore Business Wellbeing. Engaged employees help to deliver the extra mile generating happy clients with positive reference which in turn generates new client growth and opens opportunities for the teams. To me this virtuous cycle is core to a sustainable, successful business and a business strategy with too much focus on cost alone ignores the positive benefits of engaged employees and inspirational experienced leadership.
