‘Transformative’ Glasgow housing development enters new phase
Following the successful conclusion of the first three phases of Link's masterplan, the construction of phase four of the Riverside Dalmarnock development began this month.
This will bring 95 more affordable homes to the community for social rent, including 41 homes for people over 55.
The award-winning development has so far delivered over 400 homes across a range of affordable rental and purchase options, meeting a wide range of needs from single people and couples to families and older people.
Link Group Commercial Director Colin Culross said: “As we enter our final affordable housing phase of this transformative masterplan, I am very proud of what we have achieved for the community in Dalmarnock.
“This development showcases Link's approach to high-quality, tenure-neutral design, where placemaking is our central aim, and supported by our partner C~urb's mission of creating sustainable communities through the successful delivery of the project with McTaggart Construction and Laurel Homes.
“The strength of our partnerships has enabled us to deliver something very special for our customers.”
Funded in partnership by Link Group, the Scottish Government, and Glasgow City Council and built by McTaggart Construction, the development was designed by Glasgow’s Hypostyle Architects in partnership with G3 Consulting Engineers, Armour Construction Consultants, Mike Hyatt Landscape Architects, and Carbon Futures.
Councillor Ruairi Kelly, Convener for Housing and Development at Glasgow City Council, said: “The Riverside Dalmarnock development is a great example of the new affordable housing being built in Glasgow, and the beginning of work on 95 new homes there for social rent is more fantastic news. These homes will meet the needs of a range of people - including the over-55s – and we are very pleased to have helped to fund this work.”
Janice Russell, Managing Director at McTaggart Construction, said: "Having delivered the first three phases of this award-winning masterplan, we're proud to continue our partnership with Link Group on phase four. This development has been transformative for Dalmarnock, and we remain focused on delivering these 95 homes to the highest standards while continuing to create employment and training opportunities for local people."
Construction of the homes is anticipated to complete in summer 2028.
