Make a subject access request
You can use this form to make a Subject Access Request [SAR] for copies of any personal data held by Link.
Once we've received the SAR you will be issued with a letter detailing the next steps and (if applicable) to verify your identity before we can proceed with the request.
Guidance for AI-generated subject access requests
We know that many people are starting to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help write letters or organise information. This can include preparing a Subject Access Request (SAR). While AI can be a helpful starting point, it’s important to use it with care so your request works well for you.
A few things to keep in mind
AI tools don’t know your personal circumstances; they create responses based on patterns rather than a full understanding of your situation. This means they can sometimes include details that aren’t quite right or relevant, create requests that are very broad or unclear, and use generic wording that doesn’t reflect what you actually need.
If this happens, we may need to come back to you for clarification, which can slow things down.
Our aim is to get you the information you need as quickly as possible. The clearer and more focused your request is, the easier it is for us to help.
If a request is very wide-ranging or unclear, we may need to:
- Ask you to clarify what you’re looking for
- Spend extra time identifying the right information
- Apply legal exemptions if they are relevant
In some cases, large or complex requests can take longer to complete, as allowed under data protection law.
If you choose to use AI, it’s worth being aware of a few risks:
- Your privacy: Information entered into public AI tools may not be fully secure
- Accuracy: AI can sometimes generate incorrect or misleading content
- Security: Sharing sensitive personal details online could expose them to risk
How to get the best from AI
If you do use AI to help with your request, we recommend:
- Taking a moment to review and edit what it produces
- Making sure your request is clear and specific
- Avoiding entering sensitive personal information unless you’re confident the tool is secure
