LinkGiving Trust Privacy Notice

LinkGiving Trust is a charitable Trust [SC042479] set up by Link Group Limited with the following objectives:

(a) The prevention or relief of poverty;

(b) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage (including relief given by the provision of accommodation or care);

(c) To alleviate poverty and enhance the wellbeing of Link's tenants, service users and other stakeholders;

(d) The regeneration of communities in areas where Link operates, by the maintenance or improvement of the physical, social and economic infrastructure and by assisting people who are at a disadvantage because of their social and economic circumstance;

(e) The relief of those in need as per (b) but additionally focussing on those who have an involvement with Link or with communities in which Link has an interest; (f) Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the listed charitable purposes contained within The Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

What data we need

To allow us to provide the service you would expect from us, we process the following information about you:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Physical or mental health data which may be relevant to the application
  • Financial information and personal circumstances of the applicant and their wider household
  • Bank account number and sort code (for applications to the emergency fund)

Why we need it

We need your information and will use your information:

  • to process your LinkGiving Trust application and to make a decision
  • to deliver any goods awarded as part of a LinkGiving award
  • to make a payment transfer (for awards made from the emergency fund)

Where we store your data

We store all data relating to your LinkGiving application, and any supporting documents, within Link’s secured electronic document and records management system

What's the legal justification?

We will process your personal data with your consent and any special categories of personal data with your explicit consent.

Sharing your information

The information you provide to us will be treated by us as confidential.

We may disclose your information to third parties who act for us for the purposes set out in this notice or for purposes approved by you, including the following:

  • Delivery of items awarded following a successful application
  • Link Group Limited Finance Department
  • External Auditors

LinkGiving Trust will not receive any information about you from any third party other than the application which will be submitted by the referrer.

Updating your information

If your details change, please contact LinkGiving Trust on 0330 303 0124 to inform us to ensure that all of the information we hold about you is up to date.

How long we will keep your information

We review our data retention periods regularly and will only hold your personal data for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as required by law (we may be legally required to hold some types of information), or as set out in any relevant contract we have with you.

We will generally keep your information for the following minimum periods after which this will be destroyed if it is no longer required for the reasons it was obtained.

Your right of access

You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to restriction of processing

You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to object to processing

You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability

You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
